Legal Age: 18

Blood Test: None

Other Test/Requirements: None

Residency Requirements: None.  If you are not a U.S. citizen, a valid passport, immigration card or passport must be presented.

Fee: $93.50 (cash only), $61.00 with state-approved pre-marital preparation course

ID: Social Security card and one of the following: Drivers license, state ID card, military ID or passport

Who Must Be Present to Apply: Both bride and groom together

Who Signs: Bride and groom

Waiting Period: 3 full days for Florida residents; none for non-residents This means to have your license valid on Friday, you will need to apply on Monday.  The 3-day waiting period is waived if a state-approved pre-marital preparation course has been taken by both within the past 12 months.  Certificate of completion must be presented at the time you apply for the marriage license.

Valid for: 60 days

Valid Out of Municipality: Yes, but not out of state.

If Previously Married: Know exact dates of divorce or death. No documents required.

Family Law Handbook: This handbook was prepared as a public service by The Family Law Section of The Florida Bar. Both parties must read the Family Law Handbook before a marriage license can be issued.

Allow at least 30 minutes to complete the paperwork.
